An opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join a well-established and expanding multi-disciplinary practice. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a wide variety of projects, including residential and commercial buildings, with a particular focus on insurance-related work. This role offers clear progression opportunities up to Senior or Associate Director level.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and advise on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of buildings.

  • Carry out acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys and defect investigations.

  • Prepare detailed reports, schedules of work and specifications.

  • Manage and oversee works using recognised building contracts in line with current technical standards.

  • Take responsibility for larger projects independently, delivering full consultancy services.

  • Apply relevant legislation including Building Regulations, Party Wall matters and CDM 2015.

  • Actively contribute to business development and client relationship management.

  • Supervise and support APC candidates and junior colleagues.

About You

  • MRICS accredited or working towards.

  • Strong experience in defect diagnosis, report writing and contract administration.

  • Proven background in managing projects to budget and deadlines.

  • Insurance repair project experience is desirable.

  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations, Building Regulations and Party Wall matters.

  • Strong IT, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

  • Flexible approach to work, with leadership and mentoring experience an advantage.
