Quantity Surveyor – London

We are partnering with a leading London-based construction consultancy to find a talented and ambitious Quantity Surveyor with consultancy experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional service and wants to grow within a supportive and energetic team.

We are seeking applications from experienced Employer’s Agents and Quantity Surveyors with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management, or a related field. Ideally, candidates will be Chartered RICS members, or actively working towards chartered status.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on a variety of construction projects, providing guidance and supervision to assistants and trainees to help them reach their potential.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with clients and other consultants on the project team.
  • Work independently and take responsibility for the successful delivery of QS, PM, and Employer’s Agent services on all projects.
  • Step up to cover senior team members when required, taking on additional responsibilities.
  • Act as Employer’s Agent on Design & Build projects and Contract Administrator on traditional projects.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, developing excellent time management strategies.
  • Deliver exceptional service to all clients, maintaining strong relationships and repeat business.
  • Undertake a minimum of 20 hours of professional development annually to maintain and expand consultancy expertise.

About you 

  • Degree-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management, or related field.
  • Ideally a Chartered RICS member, or committed to achieving chartered status within three years.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing your own projects in quantity surveying and/or project management, within private practice, construction companies, or related organisations.
  • Proficiency in measurement, preferably using CostX software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work.
  • Skilled negotiator with confidence handling contractual matters.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the UK as required.
