I’m working on behalf of a highly respected, privately owned engineering and consultancy group to appoint an experienced Fire Engineer into their London team. The business operates across the built environment, delivering complex, high-profile projects for major developers, contractors, and asset owners across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Fire Engineer who wants to work in a technically strong environment, with genuine investment in professional development, long-term career progression, and an outstanding employee experience.

About the Company (Confidential)

My client is an established, multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong reputation for technical excellence and collaborative project delivery. They are known for combining innovative engineering solutions with a people-first culture, resulting in high staff retention and long-term client relationships.

The London office is central to the firm’s UK operations and works closely with other disciplines including building services, sustainability, and façade engineering. The fire engineering team is well-resourced, highly regarded, and continues to grow due to sustained project demand.

The Role

As a Fire Engineer, you will be involved in the delivery of fire safety strategies across a broad range of sectors, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, and complex buildings. You’ll work closely with clients, design teams, and approving authorities from concept through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing fire strategies and fire engineering reports for all project stages

  • Supporting design teams with fire safety input and compliance advice

  • Liaising with Building Control, Fire Authorities, and other stakeholders

  • Undertaking qualitative and quantitative fire risk assessments where required

  • Contributing to project coordination and mentoring junior engineers

  • Supporting performance-based design solutions and innovative approaches to fire safety

About You

You will ideally have:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Fire Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline

  • Experience working within a fire engineering consultancy environment

  • Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, guidance, and standards

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with clients and authorities

  • A desire to work towards (or already hold) Chartered status (CEng / IEng)

What’s on Offer

This role comes with one of the strongest packages in the market, including:

  • Market-leading base salary

  • Annual bonus of up to 18%

  • 35+ days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays and additional closure days)

  • Hybrid working model

  • Lunch provided twice a week

  • Full support toward Chartership and professional qualifications

  • Regular company away days and social events

  • A genuinely supportive, non-corporate culture with clear progression routes

Next Steps

If you’re a Fire Engineer looking for a long-term move into a high-quality consultancy with excellent rewards, strong leadership, and meaningful project exposure, I’d be happy to discuss this opportunity in confidence.
