The London office is central to the firm’s UK operations and works closely with other disciplines including building services, sustainability, and façade engineering. The fire engineering team is well-resourced, highly regarded, and continues to grow due to sustained project demand.
The Role
As a Fire Engineer, you will be involved in the delivery of fire safety strategies across a broad range of sectors, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, and complex buildings. You’ll work closely with clients, design teams, and approving authorities from concept through to completion.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing fire strategies and fire engineering reports for all project stages
Supporting design teams with fire safety input and compliance advice
Liaising with Building Control, Fire Authorities, and other stakeholders
Undertaking qualitative and quantitative fire risk assessments where required
Contributing to project coordination and mentoring junior engineers
Supporting performance-based design solutions and innovative approaches to fire safety
About You
You will ideally have:
A degree (or equivalent) in Fire Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline
Experience working within a fire engineering consultancy environment
Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, guidance, and standards
Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with clients and authorities
A desire to work towards (or already hold) Chartered status (CEng / IEng)
