Key Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership across a portfolio of complex insurance claims, ensuring accurate assessments and effective outcomes.

Lead, motivate and develop both desk-based engineers and field technical staff, fostering a strong performance culture.

Support surveying activity and occasional site visits to assess damage and technical requirements.

Participate in client meetings and represent the technical team professionally.

Drive performance against service level targets, audit requirements and quality standards.

Produce regular management information and technical reporting.

Promote best practice, continuous improvement and adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge & Experience

A relevant degree such as Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Surveying, or a closely related technical discipline (advantageous).

Proven leadership experience in technical or engineering teams, ideally within insurance claims, risk, or property disciplines.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to varied audiences.

A flexible and adaptable approach to work, capable of balancing remote leadership with occasional travel and field engagement.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

A full UK driving licence (if role duties include site visits).
