We are recruiting for a Building Consultant – Subsidence to join an award-winning subsidence services division. This is a UK-wide opportunity offering genuine flexibility, combining home working, digital diagnostics and local site visits.

You will manage a portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims from initial notification through to conclusion, applying your technical expertise in diagnosis, mitigation and repair. The role offers autonomy, variety and the opportunity to work on technically challenging cases while being fully supported by a collaborative and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an end-to-end caseload of domestic and commercial subsidence claims

  • Diagnose structural defects and subsidence-related issues using both digital technology and on-site inspections

  • Recommend and oversee appropriate mitigation and repair solutions, including drainage-related works

  • Communicate effectively with policyholders, insurers, contractors and internal stakeholders

  • Prepare accurate technical reports and maintain clear case records

  • Deliver high standards of customer service, demonstrating empathy and professionalism

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external service providers

Working Arrangements

This role offers a hybrid working model, allowing you to work from home while attending site visits in your local area. Diagnostic assessments may be completed remotely using digital technology or through face-to-face inspections, depending on operational requirements and personal preference.

About You

You will be a technically capable building professional with a strong customer focus and a passion for problem-solving.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Working towards or holding a chartered building professional qualification (MCIOB, MRICS, MICE or equivalent)

  • Proven experience diagnosing structural defects and subsidence in buildings

  • Strong understanding of subsidence prevention, mitigation and repair techniques

  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills

Desirable:

  • Insurance claims handling experience (training provided)

  • Insurance qualifications such as CILA or CII

  • Salary up to £55,000 per annum (dependent on skills and experience)
