We are seeking an experienced RICS Chartered Building Surveyor to become part of our Building Consultancy team in London. The successful candidate will manage a diverse workload across commercial and residential property, while helping to strengthen existing client relationships and win new business. The role will also involve supporting the wider team’s growth by contributing technical expertise, maintaining high service standards, and assisting in the achievement of financial and operational objectives. Key responsibilities

Carrying out building surveys across a wide variety of commercial and residential properties.

Preparing Schedules of Dilapidations and leading negotiations with opposing parties and their professional advisers.

Delivering project management, contract administration, and design services for refurbishment, conversion, and new build schemes within the commercial, rural, and residential sectors.

Producing feasibility studies in collaboration with other disciplines where required.

Undertaking the Principal Designer role on smaller projects where needed to ensure compliance with CDM 2015, for both internal and external clients.

Providing professional advice to clients and other stakeholders on a range of building surveying matters.

Acting in relation to the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 on behalf of building owners and adjoining owners.

Preparing Schedules of Condition and negotiating with other parties’ professional representatives where necessary.

Advising clients on planned preventative maintenance programmes and strategies for implementation.

Investigating building defects and advising clients on remedial options and property-related issues.

Monitoring development projects on behalf of landlords, tenants, or lenders.

Providing Reinstatement Cost Assessments for a wide range of property types throughout the UK.

Supporting, supervising, and helping to develop junior team members, while contributing to the effective performance of the wider team.

Undertaking any other duties reasonably required to support the smooth operation of the department.
About you

You will be a Chartered Building Surveyor with significant post-qualification industry experience.

You will have strong communication skills and a proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.

You will possess strong technical knowledge and a sound understanding of relevant legislation and professional practice.

You will hold a full clean driving licence.
