As a Graduate Fire Engineer, you’ll support fire engineering projects under the guidance of senior staff. Key tasks include contributing to Fire Engineering Judgments (FEJs), performing passive fire protection assessments, reviewing fire test data, and engaging in site visits. The role provides excellent exposure to both active and passive fire engineering disciplines and high-profile, technically demanding projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support preparation and review of technical assessments and Fire Engineering Judgments (FEJs)
  • Assist with passive fire protection evaluations: drywall systems, fire-stopping, compartmentation, fire doors, cavity barriers, and coatings
  • Analyse fire performance test data to ensure technical accuracy
  • Work alongside senior engineers to develop compliant strategies under UK and BS EN standards
  • Conduct site surveys and engage with project teams to gather critical information
  • Participate in client meetings and aid in project documentation
Essential Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering or a closely related discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Materials Engineering)
  • Strong analytical skills and technical literacy in fire engineering principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Highly attentive to detail and adept at problem-solving
  • Effective team working across multidisciplinary project groups
Desirable Attributes
  • Familiarity with BS EN 15725 or Passive Fire Protection Forum (PFPF) processes
  • Prior project or work experience via internships or academic placements related to fire engineering or testing
  • Keen interest in sustainable design and innovative safety solutions
