We are seeking a skilled and motivatedConstruction All Risks (CAR) Adjuster to join a specialist claims team. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working from home, combined with site visits and occasional office collaboration. You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of CAR claims, using your technical expertise and communication skills to deliver an outstanding service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Management: Oversee CAR claims from first notification through to settlement, ensuring fair and efficient outcomes.
Coverage Analysis: Interpret policy wordings (including JCT, LEG, DE) to determine coverage and provide clear, informed advice.
Site Investigations: Conduct on-site inspections to assess damage, gather evidence, and evaluate losses.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with contractors, insurers, brokers, and other parties to negotiate settlements within authority.
Reporting & Documentation: Produce accurate claim records and detailed reports for all stakeholders.
Technical Application: Apply construction knowledge and regulatory insight to support robust claim assessments.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain trusted professional relationships throughout the claims process.
Skills & Experience
Experience: Demonstrated experience in handling CAR claims, ideally including London Market and engineering-related losses.
Qualifications: CILA/CII qualified (or working towards).
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building regulations, and insurance policy frameworks.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and negotiate effectively.
Analytical Thinking: Skilled at interpreting complex information and making evidence-based decisions.
Negotiation: Confident in securing timely, fair settlements.
IT Proficiency: Competent with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
