As a Fire Risk Assessor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety of various building types across the UK. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments, identify hazards, evaluate risks, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance fire safety measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fire Risk Assessments: Conduct detailed fire risk assessments across diverse property types, including residential, healthcare, education, custodial, and commercial buildings.

  • Compliance & Legislation: Ensure all assessments align with current fire safety legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Building Safety Act 2022, and the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.

  • Reporting: Produce clear, concise, and actionable fire risk assessment reports, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to discuss findings and implement necessary fire safety measures.

  • Training & Development: Provide fire safety training sessions to staff and clients, ensuring they are informed about fire risks and safety protocols.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest fire safety regulations and best practices, ensuring all assessments are current and compliant.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Fire Safety Qualification: Hold a recognised fire safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate, FireQual Level 3 Certificate, or equivalent.

  • Experience: Proven experience in conducting fire risk assessments across various building types.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK fire safety legislation and best practices.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed reports and deliver training sessions.

  • IT Proficiency: Competent in using IT applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Professional Membership: Membership with a recognised professional body, such as the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM).

  • Specialist Experience: Experience in specific sectors like healthcare, education, or residential buildings.

  • Advanced Qualifications: Higher-level fire safety qualifications or additional certifications.
