An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join a well-established Architecture and Building Surveying team in the South West. Based from the Exeter office, this role offers the chance to work across a diverse range of projects, deliver high-quality professional services, support key clients, and contribute to the continued growth of the team.
The successful candidate will be involved in both professional and project-led instructions, with particular exposure to heritage, commercial, and mixed-use schemes.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver a broad range of building surveying services to a high professional standard
Lead and support heritage and refurbishment projects
Provide professional services including:
Building surveys
Contract administration
Dilapidations
Defect analysis
Planned maintenance programmes
Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong and lasting relationships
Manage projects from inception through to completion
Prepare reports, specifications, and schedules of work
Support junior team members and contribute to mentoring and development
Assist with business development activities and help grow client accounts
Work collaboratively with colleagues across multi-disciplinary teams
Skills and Experience Required
MRICS qualified (or working towards with relevant experience)
Strong background in building surveying within the commercial and/or heritage sectors
Experience delivering both professional services and project work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong client-facing ability with a professional and proactive approach
Good organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
Full UK driving licence
