Full-Time | Permanent | Yorkshire-Based Projects
We are working with a highly respected multi-disciplinary consultancy to recruit a Building Surveyor for their growing team based in Leeds. This is a full-time, permanent position with a strong regional focus across Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.
The role offers a dynamic and varied workload, with a particular emphasis on insurance-related work involving residential properties of all construction types. Key Responsibilities
Carry out inspections and provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishmentof various types of buildings and sites.
Undertake acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys, and defect investigations.
Prepare technical reports, schedules of works, and specifications.
Design and manage works in accordance with recognised building contracts and up-to-date technical standards.
Take responsibility for managing large-scale projects independently, offering comprehensive consultancy services.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including Health & Safety, Party Wall matters, Building Regulations, and Planning.
Promote the services of the organisation and act as a professional representative at all times.
About You
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Strong experience in building surveying and professional consultancy services.
Solid understanding of defect diagnosis and the ability to produce clear and accurate reports.
Ideally, experience with insurance reinstatement projects.
Previous exposure to leadership or supervisory roles.
Ability to work efficiently to deadlines and budgets on sizeable projects.
Good working knowledge of CDM 2015, Party Wall matters, and Building Regulations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and IT skills.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
A flexible and adaptable approach to varied workload demands.
Note: Chartered status (MRICS) is not essential. Full support is available for candidates working towards APC and chartered accreditation.
