We are seeking an experienced Surveyor / Adjuster to join a specialist team managing structural and latent defect claims across the West Midlands and South West.

This is a varied role combining surveying and adjusting responsibilities. You'll take ownership of a portfolio of structural and latent defect claims across commercial, residential, and multi-unit properties, handling them on a cradle-to-grave basis.

Key activities will include:

  • Attending site visits, assessing damage, and diagnosing causes of defects

  • Producing preliminary and final reports

  • Overseeing reinstatement works

  • Appointing and reviewing external engineers' scopes of repair

  • Reviewing technical documentation and advising claimants and insurers

  • Supporting wider commercial surveying and design projects, including contract administration, preparing repair scopes, and managing tendering processes

What We're Looking For

  • Qualifications: Relevant degree and chartered status (e.g. MCIOB, MRICS, MICE) advantageous

  • Structural Defects Knowledge: In-depth understanding of structural issues affecting buildings.

  • Claims Experience: Proven experience handling and concluding Building Guarantee or Latent Defects claims.

  • Technical Ability: Skilled in assessing damage, identifying causes, and recommending appropriate repair techniques.

  • Legislative Knowledge: Familiarity with CDM regulations and Party Wall legislation.

  • Customer Service: Strong decision-making skills, empathy, and commitment to delivering excellent client service.

  • Remote Working: Ability to manage workload independently, with effective collaboration across remote teams.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel regularly to attend site visits.

  • Other Requirements: Full UK driving licence; strong IT skills (Microsoft Office and general systems).
