A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior to Associate Director-level Rural Building Surveyor with a strong interest in heritage and conservation. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of rural and historic properties, including the iconic Peterborough Cathedral. Key Responsibilities
  • Heritage & Conservation: Provide expert surveying advice on listed buildings, conservation areas, and rural estates.
  • Project Management: Lead refurbishment, repair, and adaptive reuse projects for historic and rural properties.
  • Client Advisory: Deliver professional consultancy services to private estates, institutional clients, and public sector organisations.
  • Building Surveys & Inspections: Conduct condition surveys, defect analysis, and heritage impact assessments.
  • Planning & Compliance: Advise on planning applications, conservation regulations, and statutory compliance.
  • Team Leadership (Associate Director Level): Mentor junior surveyors, manage client relationships, and contribute to business development.
About You
  • Experience: Senior to Associate Director level experience in Building Surveying, ideally with a rural and/or heritage focus.
  • Qualifications: MRICS or FRICS accreditation (or working towards it).
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of building pathology, conservation techniques, and planning legislation.
  • Project Experience: Proven track record in managing building conservation and restoration projects.
  • Communication & Leadership: Ability to work independently, lead projects, and build strong client relationships.
