An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experiencedMarine Adjuster to step into a leadership role as Head of Marine in London. This position is ideal for a Senior Marine Adjuster looking to take the next step in their career, offering the chance to lead a dynamic team and drive strategic growth within a global loss adjusting firm.
As Head of Marine, you will be responsible for managing complex marine claims, developing client relationships, and overseeing a team of adjusters to ensure service excellence. You will play a pivotal role in expanding the marine division, enhancing operational efficiencies, and maintaining the company's strong reputation in the marine insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the marine loss adjusting team, providing guidance and mentorship to adjusters.

  • Handle complex and high-value marine and cargo claims, ensuring timely and fair resolution.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, brokers, and legal professionals.

  • Drive business development initiatives, identifying opportunities for growth within the marine sector.

  • Oversee claims processes, audits, and reporting, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

  • Provide expert technical support and training to the team.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Marine Loss Adjuster, with exposure to cargo, hull & machinery, ports & terminals, and liability claims.

  • Strong leadership qualities with experience mentoring or managing a team (or the ambition to step into a leadership role).

  • Excellent knowledge of marine insurance policies, legal frameworks, and regulatory compliance.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify business development opportunities.

  • CILA, ACII, or equivalent professional qualifications are desirable.
