We are seeking experienced and driven individuals for senior-level positions ranging fromPrincipal Fire Engineer up to Associate Director. Key Responsibilities
Depending on your level of experience, your role will include a combination of the following:
Technical Leadership
Lead or oversee fire strategy development for complex projects, including CFD and evacuation modelling.
Ensure compliance with current building regulations, British Standards, and performance-based fire safety design.
Oversee or carry out fire risk assessments, PAS 9980 assessments, EWS1s, external wall reviews, and safety case reports.
Review and quality-check technical outputs across the team.
Project & Client Management
Manage multiple fire engineering projects, including fee proposals, delivery and client relationships.
Represent the business in meetings with clients, design teams, and regulatory bodies.
Provide expert advice and strategic input at key project stages.
Team Development
Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers.
Contribute to recruitment, training, and the overall development of the team.
For Associate Director level, provide input into business operations, commercial performance, and strategic direction.
Required Skills & Experience
Degree-qualified in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety, or related field.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership (particularly for Associate Director).
Member (or Fellow) of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE).
7+ years of relevant fire engineering experience, ideally in consultancy.
Strong knowledge of UK regulations (ADB, BS 9991, BS 9999, PAS 9980) and modern design techniques.
Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proven leadership capabilities — whether in project delivery, technical excellence, or business development.
