The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Major Loss (South West), you’ll manage a diverse caseload from first instruction through to settlement. The role involves full ownership of investigations, reporting, and negotiations, ensuring all work meets internal technical and operational standards, including data protection and security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate, negotiate, and settle major and complex claims in a professional and timely manner.

  • Work closely with insureds, insurers, and brokers to drive effective communication and progress each claim to resolution.

  • Carry out on-site investigations and damage assessments.

  • Produce clear, accurate reports in line with internal guidelines and agreed timescales.

  • Contribute to wider business development activity by identifying opportunities, supporting client relationships, and representing the business professionally.

  • Undertake additional projects or ad-hoc work as required.

About You – Experience & Skills

  • CILA qualified or working towards the qualification. Other relevant industry accreditations are an advantage.

  • Strong background in property loss adjusting, ideally with exposure to major or complex claims.

  • Confident communicator with solid organisational, technical, and negotiation skills.

  • Able to make sound decisions, solve problems effectively, and manage a varied workload.

  • Comfortable building strong relationships with clients, brokers, and colleagues.

  • A positive reputation within the insurer and broker market is a plus.
