This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Loss Adjuster/Insurance Surveyor who enjoys working directly with customers and delivering outstanding service while ensuring cost-effective claim management.

You’ll be visiting policyholders on-site to assess household claims, gather key information, validate cover, and agree on fair settlements. The role involves collaborating closely with a Home Project Manager team to ensure claims are handled efficiently from start to finish.

This is a field-based role, so you’ll be travelling to customer locations, managing your own diary, and occasionally supporting major incidents outside your usual area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visit customers on-site to assess claims, gather evidence, and validate policy coverage.
  • Create detailed work scopes, floorplans, and initial claim reserves using claims scoping software.
  • Make liability decisions and appoint suppliers to deliver timely repairs and resolutions.
  • Ensure claims are managed in a cost-effective and customer-focused way from first visit through to settlement.
  • Work flexibly across the UK, including evenings and weekends when required.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to share information and manage claim outcomes efficiently.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong empathy and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Experience within the Residential (Home) property insurance sector.
  • Solid technical knowledge of building pathology and claims best practice.
  • Proficiency in claims scoping software (e.g., Symbility, Exactaware) and confident using tablet technology on-site.
  • Understanding of Flood, Escape of Water (EOW), and Fire damage claims as well as health & safety regulations.
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload independently.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary dependent on experience
  • Company car
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • Generous pension contribution
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell additional days
  • Discounts on insurance products plus retailer savings
  • Share schemes and other financial benefits
