Our Client is seeking an experienced Liability Manager to take ownership of an established and growing Liability proposition. This is a senior, autonomous role combining operational leadership, business development, and team growth, with a clear mandate to expand market presence and develop long-term client relationships.

The successful candidate will manage an existing portfolio of Liability instructions while actively driving new business, shaping strategy, and building a high-performing team aligned to the Client’s long-term growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

● Build, lead, and mentor a team of Liability Adjusters, supporting both technical development and performance management

● Set standards for technical quality, client service, and operational delivery

● Act as a senior referral point for complex and high-value liability claims

● Develop scalable team structures to support future growth

Claims & Operational Management

● Oversee the handling of EL, PL, Products and related Liability claims

● Ensure consistent technical excellence, compliance, and commercial awareness across the portfolio

● Maintain strong governance, reporting, and quality assurance standards

● Support strategic planning around capacity, workflow, and resourcing

 

 

 

 

 

Business Development & Growth

● Actively generate new instructions through insurer, broker, solicitor, and commercial relationships

● Represent the business externally, promoting the Liability offering and wider services

● Identify and convert new client opportunities, contributing directly to revenue growth

● Collaborate with senior stakeholders to shape and execute the Liability growth strategy

About You

Essential

● Proven experience in Liability claims handling at a senior or managerial level

● Demonstrable background in business development, client acquisition, or portfolio growth

● Strong leadership capability with experience managing, mentoring, or building teams

● Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills

Desirable

● Prior experience establishing or scaling a Liability function

● Existing insurer, broker, or corporate client relationships

● ACILA, FCILA, Cert CILA, Dip CII or equivalent professional qualifications
