The fire engineering team has an excellent reputation, built on a foundation of repeat business and multidisciplinary collaboration. The Role:
The successful candidate will be a team player with the potential to lead a group of engineers. They will help to promote the fire engineering service line, maintain strong client relationships, and deliver high-quality services. While remote working is supported, being within commuting distance of one of the offices is preferred to foster team integration. Occasional travel may be required.
Professional Qualifications / Skills:
- Degree in Fire Engineering or a related field (undergraduate or postgraduate)
- Strong understanding of UK legislation and standards (BS9999, RRFSO, PAS79, PAS7, BS7974, Building Regulations)
- Experience in EWS1 survey reports and FRAEW assessments
- Familiarity with DLUHC guidance and regulatory frameworks, or a demonstrable ability to learn quickly
- Proven experience in fire risk assessments across a range of sectors (residential, education, healthcare, industrial, commercial)
- Competence in fire integrity and compartmentation surveys, including identifying breaches and preparing remedial designs/specifications
- Committed to high standards of customer service and technical delivery
- Passionate about fire safety and producing quality work
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Capable of leading and mentoring teams
- Able to manage complex projects from inception to completion
- Effective at prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines
- Strong client-facing and relationship-building skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Full, clean UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle
