An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Surveyor to join a dynamic team of Building Surveyors, Architects, Architectural Technologists, and Assistants, delivering expert advice across architecture and building consultancy. The role requires ownership of key projects and the ability to operate independently as well as part of a team, providing tailored solutions to a diverse client base. The position is based in Scotland with a focus on rural and strategic development projects, collaborating across multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
Contract administration and project monitoring
Conducting building surveys and report writing
Preparing schedules of condition and planned preventative maintenance programmes
Creating CAD drawings (CAD skills are desirable)
Preparing tenders and contract documents
Advising on the appointment of contractors, designers, and procurement routes
Preparing scheme designs, specifications of works, and schedules of dilapidations
Advising on the preservation and conservation of historic buildings
Applying Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and health and safety regulations
Demonstrating professional building surveying and awareness of all RICS guidelines and best practices
Project management, Employers Agent duties, and Reinstatement Cost Assessment as required
Skills and Qualifications
MRICS, CIOB, CIAT, or an equivalent professional qualification - or working towards via APC Route
Good understanding of CDM and health and safety regulations
Understanding of financial cost management
Ability to build relationships and develop new business opportunities
Full UK driving licence
