Rotate is working with one of the UK's largest consultancies and are looking for a driven and ambitious Associate Director within Building Surveying to support their project leaders in delivering high-quality services, achieving outstanding client outcomes, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. The successful candidate will help grow their regional presence and contribute to the delivery of a wide range of building surveying services, from initial concept through to completion, across sectors including education, healthcare, and local government.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering professional building surveying services and project commissions from inception to completion
- Assisting in the management of client and project teams to ensure services are delivered on time and within budget
- Undertaking site visits, inspections, and surveys, liaising with contractors, sub-contractors, and clients as required
- Preparing technical reports, specifications, and schedules of work
- Managing contract administration and contributing to project delivery
- Representing the company in a professional, diligent, and client-focused manner
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships to support long-term business growth
- Contributing to knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement across the business
- A BSc in Building Surveying (or equivalent qualification)
- Chartered status (MRICS) - essential
- A strong understanding of the full scope of building surveying services
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and NBS would be advantageous
- Experience in public and private sector environments, particularly higher education, healthcare, and local government, is beneficial
- Well-developed project management and contract administration experience
- Highly organised, proactive, commercially aware, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- A collaborative team player with a positive, flexible, and professional approach
- Solid IT skills, including MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and relevant industry software

The current team in the London office is made up of 3 surveyors, 2 APC candidates and 1 Director. This role is the initial growth phase in what is set to be an exciting boost to the team. You will be working flexibly from their London office, alongside their engineering, projects, cost & architecture teams.
