We are seeking a commercially minded and technically accomplished Associate Director – Building Surveyor to join a respected Building & Project Consultancy team in London.

This is a career-defining leadership role, offering the chance to deliver a wide variety of professional and project services across commercial, residential, and heritage portfolios. You’ll work with high-profile clients, take ownership of complex instructions, and help drive the continued growth of a thriving department.

Key Responsibilities You will play a key role in delivering and overseeing core building surveying services, including:

  • Technical due diligence and pre-acquisition surveys

  • Dilapidations, schedules of condition, and lease advice

  • Planned preventative maintenance and defect diagnosis

  • Party wall matters and neighbourly negotiations

  • Managing refurbishment and fit-out projects as contract administrator or project lead

  • Providing expert advice while developing and maintaining strong client relationships

  • Supporting the development of junior surveyors through mentoring and technical guidance

  • Identifying and converting new business opportunities, contributing to revenue and departmental growth

About You We are looking for a surveyor who combines technical expertise with strong commercial acumen. You will bring:

  • MRICS qualification with extensive post-qualification experience

  • Consultancy background covering both professional and project-based work

  • Excellent communication and client management skills

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor teams

  • Strong organisational skills with the confidence to manage multiple projects at once

Package & Benefits

  • Base Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)

  • Bonus: 20–30% performance bonus, plus up to 65% of pre-tax profits on projects delivered

  • Car Allowance: £5,400 per annum

  • Annual Leave: 27–30 days (plus bank holidays), with entitlement increasing with tenure

  • Hybrid Working: Typically 3 days in-office / 2 days remote, with flexibility based on client needs
