Building Consultant - Subsidence - Essex

We're seeking building professionals to join our Subsidence Team within the Subsidence Services Division, with vacancies available in Essex however Candidates in and around London will also eb considered.. This role offers the flexibility of remote work from home along with site visits to policyholders. You'll collaborate closely with team members and service providers, managing a portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims from start to finish. This includes diagnosis, mitigation, and overseeing repairs. Our services are delivered using digital technology for remote diagnosis and meetings nationwide, or through on-site face-to-face interactions in your local area. Candidates comfortable with both approaches are preferred, though preferences will be accommodated based on capacity. Requirements: Chartered building professional qualification (e.g., MCIOB, MRICS, MICE) or working towards one, preferably with an insurance qualification (e.g., CILA or CII) Detailed knowledge of structural defects affecting buildings Ability to diagnose the cause of subsidence or other building damages in domestic and commercial settings Understanding of mitigating strategies against ongoing subsidence damage Knowledge of repair techniques for damaged buildings and drainage systems, particularly related to subsidence damage Experience in insurance claims handling is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided Decisiveness in resolving issues, emphasis on exceptional customer service, strong communication, and empathy skills Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft packages and Apple apps, and ability to operate both Windows and Apple hardware devices Familiarity with CDM and Party Wall legislation Capability to work remotely with a distributed team, undertake necessary visits, and manage workload effectively while providing professional advice to claimants and insurers Full UK driving licence Benefits: Competitive salary based on skills, experience, and qualifications Flexible working arrangements, including remote and office options Healthcare scheme Self Invested Personal Pension Scheme 25 days holiday allowance plus bank holidays Discounts on various products and services Employee assistance program for wellbeing Life assurance Group Income Protection Voluntary benefits such as dental cover, cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan, wellbeing, and digital GP app
