Our Client is seeking an experienced Surveyor / Adjuster to join their highly successful Structural Defects Services team, managing a portfolio of latent defect and structural claims across the West Midlands and South region.
This is a unique opportunity for technically minded professionals with a background in surveying or loss adjusting, offering a varied and rewarding workload. You’ll handle claims from cradle to grave, covering both commercial and residential properties, as well as multi-unit developments.
Your responsibilities will include:
Attending site visits to assess damage and diagnose the likely cause of defects.
Producing detailed preliminary and final reports with clear technical conclusions.
Overseeing reinstatement works, appointing and reviewing external engineers’ scopes of repair.
Advising claimants and insurers with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
Reviewing technical documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Supporting the wider Commercial Surveying & Design team with traditional surveying tasks such as contract administration, preparing repair scopes, and managing tendering processes.
This role combines technical depth, autonomy, and collaboration, providing the flexibility of home-based working with regular regional travel.
What you’ll bring
Relevant degree and ideally chartered status (MCIOB, MRICS, MICE) and/or insurance qualifications.
Strong understanding of structural defects, their causes, and appropriate repair methods.
Proven experience handling claims under Building Guarantee or Latent Defects policies.
Familiarity with CDM regulations and Party Wall legislation.
Excellent communication and decision-making skills, with a commitment to customer care.
Strong IT proficiency (Microsoft Office and general systems).
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.
