As a Senior Technical Surveyor specialising in subsidence, you will take on a pivotal technical and advisory responsibility within the claims management environment. Your remit will focus on managing the more complex subsidence claims, acting as a referral point for technical matters across the business. Your role will involve investigation, reporting, project oversight and working with a variety of stakeholders including clients, policy-holders, contractors and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and carry out detailed assessments for complex subsidence claims, including those requiring stabilisation schemes.

  • Conduct site visits to damaged properties across the UK, identifying causes of movement or subsidence and assessing repair and reinstatement requirements.

  • Interpret specialist geotechnical reports, schedule site investigations, liaise with contractors and monitor progress.

  • Provide specification of remedial works, obtain competitive tenders, assess those tenders and make appropriate recommendations.

  • Administer building contracts: project manage repair works on site, authorise payments, agree variations and ensure cost controls.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements including building regulations, planning, Party Wall Act, CDM regulations and health & safety legislation.

  • Maintain accurate records and manage your own portfolio of work efficiently, meeting defined service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Act as a technical subject expert: provide guidance, training and support to less senior surveyors or other team members when required.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, loss adjusters, policy-holders, external engineers and contractors.

Benefits & Working Conditions

  • Fully remote home-based role with flexibility to attend local offices when needed.

  • Company vehicle or car allowance may be provided (via salary sacrifice or leasing arrangements).

  • Access to a structured professional development programme including training, funding for professional qualifications and career progression opportunities.

  • Competitive benefits package including pension contributions, life assurance and other standard employee offerings.
